Which drone to buy?

I crashed my older drone into the ocean. What are the differences between the newest mini mavic 3 air and mini mavic pro 4?
This older guy needs some advice.
Google Consumer Drones Comparison
That will bring up a page from DJI that shows all the differences.
Just tinker with the headings to show the models you want to compare.

Some thoughts.
Your budget will be part of this decision.
Something to consider may be the flight characteristics of what you acquire.
Anything that contains the word”mini” will contend with wind conditions specified per that model. If the word”mini” is removed in your decision, the wind conditions can be increased per those other models available. Research is next on your list.
Be safe and have fun!
(What was the older drone?)

I had a mavic 2 pro which is considerably larger than a mini. So I understand the wind issue. My budget is 1500 us dollars. I guess im asking if anyone has had issues with these models

Greetings from Birmingham Alabama USA, welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing from you!

I just noticed that you had already posted in the Pilot Check-In forum. So, I moved this thread to the General discussion forum. Please take note of this when making future posts. Thanks and good luck!

Welcome to the forum from Northwest New Jersey. I'm still using the Mavic 2 Pro because it has a great camera, and I can manually set my exposure. I also have the Mini 3 Pro for travel and just overall fun. When I upgrade, it will be for the latest Mavic on the market. I need the flexibility of exposure settings and stability in the wind, as mentioned in some of the other responses.

I wish you good luck with your research.

BTW...70 is NOT OLD!! 😀😀

Going back as far as 2014 I have bought at least 5 different DJI drones over the years. I have a Mini 3 and love it, but when the 4 came out I ordered one of those due to the addition of waypoints, greater flight distance with RC2 vs the RC1 on my Mavic 3, and better obstacle avoidance. Get the Refresh. No matter how good you are, you may end up needing it - and DJI's follow through is fabulous.

As you've noticed by now, you're in good company age wise. In fact nearly all the replies are in our 'young' age group. Personally I would stay in the mid sized mavics, the Air 2 & 3 models will serve all your needs for years to come. Choice depends on if photography is #1. I still love my A2 bought used years ago, no need to upgrade..yet.
