Gday everyone,
I am an amateur film maker who is looking to develop a portfolio of films for a business I plan to start at the end of the year.

I am desperately looking for a drone and I've done research and I understand that the Mavic Pro 2 is undeniably the best drone on the market but with a price point of $2500 the price point is a bit steep for an 18 year old. I am stuck between a Mavic Air or a Mavic Spark, with their fly more combos. Mavic Spark is easily affordable however I have heard that it feels more like a toy and I a bit of a joke. It also doesn't shoot 4K which doesn't worry me too much, although I could consider a drone that shoots 4K more of a ROI as I can sell 4K stock footage but that isn't my main objective.

The Mavic Air looks great but my only concern is that it's between $1000 and $1200 and as far as I'm concerned, I'm paying an extra $500 for 4K and a slightly longer flight time.

Thank you

I went from a spark to an Mavic Air with 3 batteries and the extra flight time is a big plus for photography, in the summer I usually get about 15 minutes enough time to get the shots that I require.

The Mavic Air is a great drone for your budget. I wouldn’t put to much faith in the spark for professional use. I think you would outgrow it very quick.

Mavic pro with 3 batteries around £650.Once you want to update you will sell for about the same price.Look on Ebay etc
I have to agree with mavic 999 here. I have a Mavic Air and a Mavic 2 Pro and I have to say that the name badge "Pro" does not stick to the drone for nothing.

The Mavic Air is an excellent drone, but rather trimmed for portability. For being so small, the engines have to spin faster, are louder / more annoying and they can not match the flight data of the pro drones. One example: Mavic Air's "Sports" mode enables the drone to fly, climb, or drop as fast as the Mavic in normal mode... apart from that, you have more flight time and more room to grow on that platform for less money.

Since your business is mainly about the camera, you will not lose any quality, since the cameras, as far as I know, are almost identical.
