'Better' in what respect? Each has it's individual merits.

You can fly the mini 4 in more places than the mav 3 and it costs a lot less.

The mini 4 camera is excellent and can flip to give you a full frame profile orientation.

The upward tilt on the mini 4 gimbal is much greater than the mav 3.... but...

The mav 3 gimbal carries 3 excellent cameras in a variety of focal lengths, one of which has a variable aperture.

The mav 3 is heavier, more powerful and can be flown easily in wind conditions that would knock a mini 4 all over the place.

The mini is under 250G. That's a huge purchase factor I.M.O. If you are not a part 107 operator I would say get the Mini.
much less of a hassle when flying.

I have both. I actually fly the Mini 4 Pro more, especially now that I have the new RC Pro 2 controller for it. The Mavic 3 definitely has a better camera, but the Mini 4 Pro's camera is still pretty amazing. I like the stealthiness of the Mini, especially with the MAS props, but like others have mentioned, the Mavic 3 handles a lot more wind. Having purchased extra batteries for both, I can tell you it's far less painful with the Mini 4! I also have an Air 2s, which actually makes me more money than the other 2 combined.
