Having some experiance with WP that looks more like an artillary round disposal. Awfully big for a grenade. Wsed to use WP to mark targets for low level air strikes.. If that was a grenade you would hope you could throw it a LOOOng ways
I guess if I would have looked closer I would have seen that it was a 105 mm.

Yes, that is correct, this is artillery round for 105 mm howitzer.
