He offers no additional details or explains who is reporting these claims. Since most of everything else he shared was from last year or prior, it's possible he might be referring to this announcement from DJI from back in October 2024.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean DJI hasn't started shipping them to their warehouses within the US. We really don't know what they plan to do since they haven't officially announced their plans.

If they started shipping them to warehouses in the US then a US release should have also been announced at the same time,one would think.

My only point was that we can't be certain Customs and Border Protection is blocking all DJI shipments, as suggested in the video posted above.

For all we know, DJI might be preparing to release in the US. Anything is possible, especially since they haven't officially stated they won't ever be releasing in the US.

I sure hope they do release it in the US as I am looking at it very closely.I really cant see them not releasing it ,and I think it will happen shortly.

Until the U.S. Customs holds on DJI shipments into the U.S. stop being a problem, it makes no sense for DJI to sell a product into the U.S. that cannot be reliably delivered to the customer, resulting in it just being returned to them, and necessitating a full refund to the customer.

Indeed. Somehow, DJI managed to get some units into the U.S., whether overtly or through subterfuge, which were made available for reviewers, Adorama and DJI New York. Oddly, no one is willing to share how that was accomplished.

Shipment of mass quantities to their U.S. warehouses would require something other than subterfuge, which I suspect was how the initial units were shipped in. There was also an NDA requirement of nondisclosure by the reviewers in their initial reviews that DJI had chosen not to sell to the U.S.. 51 Drones alludes to that in the YouTube comments below the video. Only after DJI officially announced that fact themselves, were the YouTuber reviewers were free to discuss it in their descriptions, comments, and subsequent videos.

However, it certainly ticked off a lot of U.S. viewers, who excitedly watched all the first day YT reviews, only to find out elsewhere, some 24 hours later, that they couldn’t buy it in the U.S, and yet the ALL reviewers deliberately left out that critical fact!

With the backstabbing, lobbying of low level career politicians and snide corporate sabotage to boost their own bid towards market dominance, I think most people who had watched this debacle unfold would take one look at the name (cough) Skydio (cough) and keep their wallet in their pocket on general principle.

That came to mind as I posted, at a point in time if Adam just focused on bringing consumers the best that his company could put out instead of what has transpired, Skydio would be doing well, I've read somewhere that they are not doing as well in the enterprise segment, time will tell.

I'm reminded that (at least in the UK) political 'muscle' has the lifespan of a Nexus 6 (blatant Blade Runner reference)... 4 years, which means all those staunch patriotic allies will be looking around for another vote-grabbing bandwagon to climb on now that Skydio has deflated.
