Wrong Port on the Mavic Mini Controler?

Hi there!

I have just bought a used DJI Macic Mini a couple of days ago and I wanted to charge the controler today for the first time. When I looked at the connection/charging port of the controler, I saw this: (Photo 1)

There is an USB-micro-A port next to an image of an USB-micro-B port. I didn‘t notice this erlier, because I had never plugged out the phone adapter before. The only cable in the scope of supply was a USB-micro-B to USB-A cable you also use for charging the drone. Interestingly, the cable reffered to and used on all the pictures in the operating instructions for charging the controler is alledigtly the same one.

Is there an commom explanation for this fact, or isn‘t this a known problem so far?

The female port is, by requirement of the USB protocols, micro USB type A. ( I believe it's part of the OTG spec for the connection/connectors )
Just use a normal micro USB type B plug to charge the controller BUT MAKE SURE the plug is correctly orientated as shown in the "image"

There are a bunch of "broken" controllers out there gathering Dust for this very reason. Its actually kinda easy to mess up the connector inside that controller.
The Mavic 1 controller suffers from the same "flaw".

Mavic 2 RC1A and RC1B controllers do too, since it's protocal I guess all these fold out arms. micro USB side port using controllers do.

I didn't figure you could just plug the micro-b into the micro-a port! Thank you all for the help, I will take care plugging it in and out.

@Simplicity a good idea to help orientate the plug ,so it doesnt damage the port on the controller, is to mark the top of the plug, when correctly plugged in with a dab of paint or something like tip X, so that you have a visual reference to go by to make sure its the correct way up

I still have to buy a new micro-SD card, so do you have any tips regarding the requirements the card should meet, apart from the UHS-I marking mentioned on the DJI website?

I use Samsung evo plus and I think they are U3.
CHECK EVERY NEW CARD WITH H2testw, it might be windows only. It is slow but gets there in the end, let it do the full write and read test.
One thing you might need to watch out for is the upper size limit, the mavic mini is 'quite old' so it might not take the current BIG capacity cards.
Currently mine has a 128gb card in it but 64gb would be my preference.
Remember to back up imagery regularly, otherwise you lose the imagery if you lose the drone.

I just bought the SanDisk Extreme Plus 32GB. Can I work with that?

I would assume so, my early cards were 32G though Samsung. SanDisk is supposed to be a good make but I haven't used them.

I accidentally damage the button board inside my mavic Mini 1 remote and now it won't power on do you think I damaged the trace completely breaking the connection in these spots?
