The USS Hornet (CV-12), a veteran of WW2 and the Korean War, and proudly served as the welcome ship for the Apollo mission’s astronauts. She now serves as a national and state historic landmark at the former Alameda Naval Air Station, in the San Francisco Bay.

I love to see pics like this, after all i worked for a major marine construction company for 30 years. We constructed groins in many states along the Gulf and eastern seaboard.
