Asks to land imediately on loss of signal? Set to RTH

Yesterday flew my Mavic a distance of about 3000 and already start experienceing signal loss. This is first time I took it out that far from my backyard and to my disapointment the distance wasn't remotely close to max distance or anything. So I keept getting sinal and video drop offs and all of a sudden I get a message something about "imediately landing" do I want to cancel . Why would it try to land 3000 feet from take off? I was using my ipad where as I usually use my iphone to fly using DJI GO4 . Do the settings from DJI go on iphone not transfer to the actual Mavic device so it shouldn't matter what device I use to connect to my controller. ?

3000 meters is pretty far I would say. Without a flight log, I can't tell you what's going on with the drone.
