Well it looks like DJI has identified the CS overheating issue and knows the cause(s). With that said, I would recommend updating FW as soon as its available.

Maybe SecNeo was the cause? ... Just a thought ...

The security app?
The whole encryption stuff in which GO4 is being enclosed.
As you are using GO4 the code has to be decrypted before it can be used.
This crypto process eats up more CPU power -> more heat is being produced ...

Makes sense, but wouldn't that be an App update rather than a FW update?

Yes, i think also, but the hell knows what DJI has built into the firmware which needs to be fixed aside the GO and GO4 apps.

From the way DJI Mindy's post reads, are DJI saying the overheat message is an erroneous message and it doesn't need to followed. Can you just reset the CS and keep using it without having to cool it down ?

This is a strange bit of advice if the CS is genuinely overheating

True

My experience with the current fw on both my 5.5" and 7.85" CS are after a while you use GO4 the internal fan jumps in. (Decent ambient temperatures)
This was not the case with previous firmware and 'older' GO 4 versions.

My CS Ultra which has been getting hot but has not had any screen issues has a build date of 15/10/17, I wonder if the build date has any relevance to the screen failures.

You can check yours , thanks to Msinger

Not sure how well this works...mine SN came back with this:

Model: Unknown, build on: 20. December 2006

Similar here - Model: Unknown, build on: 2. May 2004

Maybe the tool is for DJI aircraft only?

By the way in the DJI serial numbers the "o's" are all zeros, see if that makes a difference to the date

My CS 5.5 was built on 28/8/17

There is one '0' in my serial. I entered a 0 (Zero)

wELL THAT # WORKED:

Model: Unknown, build on: 15. October 2017

So it looks like we got the good batch, given both CS Ultra's were built on the same day and so far we haven't had the serious problems yet. Thumbswayup
