Has anyone flown from inside their car with goggles?

The title says it all, I just ordered a pair of goggles and I'm afraid of people walking up on me if I'm out in public. Will the transmission work from inside a stationary car? If so has anyone found out how to mod the googles for an external antenna mount? Any ideas on what the range would be from inside a car with the transmitter and headset?

I've had people use the goggles inside the house while I flew the Mavic outside. Range wasn't as good as outside (obviously) but it did work fine for quite a bit of distance. I suspect that a car would be even better (don't take off from the car though!).

Anything in between you and your Mavic (either with the RC or the goggles) will impede the transmission and reduce the range. The more between you and your MP, the more the interference.

Yes flown for inside my car, location was outskirts of town in a neighborhood . Flew just under a mile around 4500' started getting the adjust antenna direction warning but the goggled worked fine.

wow, thats more than i was expecting, thanks for the info! were your windows rolled up or down by chance?

Jajaja way to go, just imagined seat reclined, ac running and people walking by thinking this guy must be watching porn, jajjaja

Will definetly give it a try!

it was 98 degrees today and did a madian with my googles with my ac blasting from inside the car! I only took it out to about 500 feet but everything was still in HD without any drop off!

Windows up car running with the AC on the only way to fly! It was probably 95 to 100 out that day.
how does the temperature help? or do you just want to feel comfy lol
