I'm truly a beginner, I've just picked up a 1st gen Mavic Pro. the batteries are shot so I'm not sure about any info on drone. Guess I'm doing shopping in the near future. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Remote I.D...a signal that is broadcasted and can be picked up with an app.

The original Mavic Pro did not make the RID compliance list from the FAA.

The Mavic Pro needs to be registered with the FAA.

You can register now as a recreational flyer and then re register the aircraft when you get your Part 107 certificate.

All aircraft over 249 grams must broadcast the RID.

An RID module must be purchased and attached to the aircraft that do not broadcast the RID.

This website sells 3-d printed mounts for different types of RID models that will fit the Mavic Pro.
