I flew my Mavic around the neighborhood and this must be just my 12th time flying it and several times the obstacle sensor came on while flying at 400ft with obviously nothing around it. Any of you had this happen while up in the air?

I did and it caused me to briefly lose control of the craft. Very disconcerting.

This is a common problem when flying directly into sunlight.

Oh BTW, for those new Mav owners, please remember to take off the plastic covering on the black obstacle sensor "eyes" before you fly it for the first time. Failure to do so might cause unanticipated readings.

Thanks. I will try to maneuver away from the sun next time see if that stops the sensor. Also compared to my P3P the Mavic transmission is less strong and I lost signal and had to RTH today. I had never had my P3P perform a RTH due to lost transmission and I am very conservative when it comes to distance and never push the distance limit of the uas.

Happens ALL the at early morning and late afternoon. Just turn away from the sun and "backward ".
