Zooming Issues of Mavic 2 Zoom

Hello everyone,,
Quick question, I noticed while zooming in that there seems to be a shift in light. For example, everything looks normal when recording then when I zoom in, the image gets darker in some cases.

I’m new to the zoom lens world, is that because less light is getting in the lens causes a shift to a darker image? It’s not extremely noticeable mobdro.bio/ Lucky Patcher Kodi but it does happen and I can pin point it every time. I’m thinking it has to do with aperture getting bigger at the long end, but I could be mistaken.

Bottom line picture/video gets darker when zooming in on the drone. Not extreme, but some.

Any thoughts on this? Is it normal?

That's quite normal. The effective aperture is reduced when you zoom in.

aperture-value = focal length/aperture
According to the datasheet the aperture-value of the M2Z is 2.8 to 3.8: Mavic 2 - Specifications, FAQs, Videos, Tutorials, Manuals - DJI

Mines the opposite, it overcompensates and always gets lighter.

I realise that, its why I said overcompensates. I have seen others say the same thing though using default settings.
