First crash. Minor scratches on camera lens.

Yeah, I tried to clean the lens up, and the marks in the picture are definitely scratches. I took some test shots and didn’t see any issues.

    Drone "hunting" for marine wildlife!

I know there are some NOAA restricted flight areas, but outside of those this seems like a great opportunity for the researchers and the drone community. I’m in Virginia Beach, so I’ll see if they need any help out here. Edit: this is the excuse I’ll use to get the polarized filters I’ve been...

First crash. Minor scratches on camera lens.

I got the batteries charged and played with it a bit. Compass and IMU are calibrated and the app shows all systems green. Flys steady, gimbal works right. Shot some pics in the house and didn’t notice any distortion or artifacts. I think I’m in the clear. Thing took a 30’ drop after the RTH took...

First crash. Minor scratches on camera lens.

So, RTH caught me off guard while I was focused on the drone and not the app, and my Mavic Air flew up into a tree, then stopped and fell to the ground. Recreational "Hand Catch" Violates Federal Law

Yeah, I don’t think it precludes them being a CBO. The pilot is still bound by part 336, even if the CBO guidelines are in conflict.

Recreational "Hand Catch" Violates Federal Law

Can you expand on this? Which two?

Recreational "Hand Catch" Violates Federal Law

Is no one else using DroneUp? I was under the impression that flying within a CBO’s programming meant being a member, and I didn’t want to pay anything to AMA. So, I joined DroneUp for free. This is from their website: “To fly a drone legally in the United States, you either need to obtain a...

    State Farm personal article insurance

So, I’m new to this game. Someone please help me out. I got a Mavic Air. Just arrived today, in fact. I was looking at DJI Care Refresh, but it only covers the first year according to the website. So, I was looking at a SquareTrade policy to cover it with accidental coverage w/no deductible, but...
