When ultimaxx filers are shipped with your mavic pro you don't have much choice. As for using ND filters in general. Is good to learn by playing with stuff yourself then read everything online. I call this fun :D

If device you use with drone does not have cellular internet, you can use you mobile phone as wifi hotspot if possible. I do that with my setup. I have my personal phone with hotspot and drone phone with pay as you go sim (which is not always topped up).

I would go for fastest device in your price range, but as you mention "DJI gives priority to Apple products."

I have not tested mavic with any top android phone, but friend of mine was complaining about amount of heat form his samsung phone. I don't remember model.

Some time ago, hangar had problem with shooting (slight delay between shots) when strong wind was blowing, I think app wanted to maintain dron position. I also use iPhone (7+).

What mobile phone or tablet do you use? I never had problem with hangar 360 or maybe once it's freezes at the beginning after 5 second counter for 10 sec.

Hello, I get 3 Ultimaxx filers with my mavic, CPL, MCUV and ND2-400 variable filter, they are huge and I'm getting same gimbal overload errors.
