Birds have have about 15,000,000 decades to get used to dodging other things moving at a few tens of miles an hour. They have had 7 decades to get used to dodging things moving at a few hundreds of miles an hour.
"centuries of evolution", huh ?
Powered flight only began just over 100 years ago and it wasn't until less than 70 years ago that there were large numbers of aircraft in the air for birds to start avoiding. There hasn't be enough time for evolution to have had any significant impact on how good...
It is indeed always listening and transmitting on the WiFI bands, but it isn't using WiFi over those bands, unless you've specifically switched it into that mode.
What is your theory, that is it connecting to open WiFi access points to phone home ?
If so, it is a very easy theory to test...
I didn't link my video from the first day when I had loads of just plain not-in-focus footage:
I only had my phone with me to edit (iPhone iMovie), so I couldn't see that it was all so soft until I got home and viewed the YouTube videos on a bigger screen.
Some of my footage turned out to be out of focus/soft. I think some of that was down to it just being out of focus, and some down to me using too dark a ND filter (pushing the shutter speed down too low).
I've just got back from an amazing sea kayaking in Greece. I took my Mavic along, I'm quite happy with some of the footage I got.
(I'm less happy with YouTube's compression, especially on moving water surfaces)
If you do that it is going to need to be very thin and I'd think twice about it personally. There really isn't much space underneath, where the strap would have to pass, that doesn't have a downward facing sensor.
Although given he provided a Google search result, you may have seen different results and followed the wrong instructions ;)
This shows disabling the mic in Facebook, the same applies to other apps:
Here’s how to stop Facebook from listening to you on your phone
(not that you need it, now...
No it doesn't, unless you did something odd. It disables the mic for just the app you choose to remove the permission from.
Removing the mic permissions from the DJI app in no way affects anything to do with Siri.
Looks like it was late in the day, flying west when you lost it ?
If so it was flying into the sun and there have been cases where the Mavic has been confused by the sun and thought it was an obstacle to avoid. So it may have gone into return-to-home, got stuck trying to avoid the sun and then...
I notice Maplins claim to have them available within three days at the normal £1099 price. I've bought plenty of stuff from Maplins over the last 30 years, but they wouldn't be first choice for somewhere to buy a £1.1k drone from ;)
Well DJI have them at the same price. A quick Google does a couple of small dealers with random prices a bit higher than £1099. All the big name places have the same £1099 price.
I note that they both these dealers show that as "in stock", though most (if not all) of the larger UK dealers still...
