Did the OP ever get his drone back?

Has anyone jumped through these enormous loops and then paid the money to get DJI Refresh on a used drone purchase? Mine works great, and I'd really like to have some insurance if it takes a dive at the lake or flies away in the mountains.

I have a 60' houseboat at Pine Flat Lake up by you... Best place EVER to fly a drone.

I just read this post.. Kudos for the OP for posting the actual follow-up rather than leave us all hanging on how it came out. Some people get kinda lazy after their drone is back up in the air.Thanks for that.

DJI stock charger and hub that comes with the fly-more combo.

While being "hugely careful", and taking everyone's advice into considerations, I'm going to deplete the battery below 8% and try to charge it again. Then I can test it on low, backyard-over-grass controlled flights and see if it resets. If not, then I will probably ****-can it.

Does DDS also work on batteries?

Bought a used Mavic Air locally for $600 with fly-more bundle. It had a skin, which I am replacing as we speak. I have 40 or so flights, mostly over water at my Houseboat. Started using Davinci Resolve, and learning about the editing of drone vids. Works good, and the price is right.

I use an Amazon Fire tablet and the extra mount. Tablet was 49 bucks. Works pretty good. Other than that, I can barely squeeze my IPhone in the case into the RC, but it's clunky. Third option, which I haven't tried is to use an older iphone with no service, place it in Airplane mode and use it...

I have a battery reading 9 degrees C (49 deg,. F) at room temp of 77 degrees F. I have to connect the battery to the drone and view videos for 15-20 minutes to heat it up enough for it to take a charge, and them it clicks off at about 80% when the temp drops again. Frustrating to be sure, since...

So, I'm pretty sure, when he said it landed "gently in the bay", he meant San Francisco Bay, which will be its forever graveyard. Just my guess from the OP's original comment.
