I bought refurbished too. Before it arrived I was concerned about how loud and annoying the sound would be after reading the forums. I have had a spark and a mavic 2. I don’t mind the sound and don’t think it’s too loud now that I have been flying it . It’s a non issue for me.

To me the Mavic 2 pro and the Mavic air make for a great combination. The Mavic air for easy to pack/carry stuff in close range, and the pro 2 for longer flight times and better camera when the size and weight doesn't bother you. So your current drone is similar the the pro 2, so maybe an air...

I think a new air will be the next model released and a phantom. Those seem to me due. I’m guessing April. Total conjecture though.

Has DJI made the Mavic 2 fly more bag larger now that the new smart controller is larger? I know there wasn't enough room in the old one to fit a larger controller. Thanks, Brent

You are right, but he specifically asked about the research discount. 10 percent educational discount on most popular models. The research discount is very limited as far as selection.
