    Canadian police drone hits airplane

I don't know if you know The Register, but it's a UK IT news site that prides itself on being on the more tabloid style, if not in content, then in language. Highly recommend!

    Canadian police drone hits airplane

Here's a very good piece (from the UK) about the strike. Cop drone crashes into flight instructor's airplane

    Situational Scripting for Drone Pilots

I don't know if others might consider something like this? (I'm UK based for what its worth so obviously there may be some variances). I've printed an A5 booklet which I keep on top of my flight bag, the idea being that if approached I can direct people to it in the first instance -...

    Beaches

The question, in my view, was not about NFZs/air restrictions but about the 'flying near people' aspect of regulations. If a blanket NFZ is in place over an area of course I would never fly there. If, however, the only restriction is your ability to fly near people then I stand by my point.

    Beaches

The newer rules are risk based. If you're concerned I'd go above and beyond; do a risk assessment for flying in that area at that time, including alternate landing sites etc. Print it and have it with you when flying. There is a HUGE difference between someone flying wreckless over a crowded...

An automagically created local map to help with flight planning - tutorial useful?

Morning all! I've managed to create a map containing 50m distances to buildings in my local area, as well as highlighting local airports and runways. It doesn't include things like no fly zones etc (which you would always want to verify on the fly), but has the added benefit of being importable...

    Premiere, h.264 and The Sea

Hi all. Well it does seem like reencoding Premieres render is the way to go in my instance. Even reencoding the output to h.264 from ProRes preserved the detail which Premieres native export was lacking. Just as a bit of additional info if you're interested there are some comparisons below from...

    Premiere, h.264 and The Sea

Thanks all for your responses. You are correct @MavicAir2Marc flipping to 60 FPS does change it to h.265, my mistake. I'll try an export at h.265 and see if that makes any difference to the artifacts on water I'm experiencing (although I doubt it will as I've tried exporting with the same...

    Premiere, h.264 and The Sea

Hi! Hope you can help. I'm shooting video with a Mavic Air 2/h.264/dlog/4k/60. However because of where I live a lot of the shots I take involve the sea and Premieres h.264 export encoding when it comes to this seems a little underwhelming. Lots of squares, artifacts etc on what is a nice...

    DJI Mavic Air 2

Given your location keep in mind the consequences of moving to the Air 2 and whether you may need some certifications to fly it. I think the new UK regs are fairly similar to the EU ones and I had to complete a course in order to fly the Air 2 near(er) to people. Great drone though.

Glad to hear you've got a few creative hobbies going to keep you busy. It's not the same I know, but my inbox is always there if you fancy a natter.

It's all a bit quiet in here. You guys holding up alright?

And that's the most important thing! Yeah I got my Air 2 in the last week of December without realising the incoming changes. Doh! Used the time to pass the A2 C of C tho, so not all lost!

    A2 C of C in the UK

I just completed with UAVHUB and highly recommend it. You have to follow the videos in order, which may frustrate some people, but I found it useful in forcing me to watch everything rather than skipping ahead. The unlimited mock exam results was very, very useful too.
