DJI recommends you do not use anything with alcohol in it.

Regardless of its weight you may or may not fly in the areas you have mentioned. I got my drone pilot certificate and registration for $15CND... fairly cheap.

It could be the obstacle avoidance system. If you have obstacles in and around the launch and landing area. You could try turning off obstacle avoidance but you'll have to be more careful. Perhaps find a launch area more free of obstacles.

My store bought landing pad also has a wire in it. For all intents and purposes the same as what you have here. I can make extremely precise landing with it. Just try it. I use the auto take off and let it land all in auto. Lands right on the spot. I'm using a Mavic Air 2.

I found all the material required free over the internet. Didn't cost a cent. Studied for 2 weeks then took the test for basic. Passed on my first try. Total cost...$10 plus $5 to register the drone.
