I use a Samsung Tab A 8in sm-t290 that I purchased to use with the MM. While it does take a few minutes for the Fly app to load up, I haven't noticed any lag while flying. Could be because nothing else is installed except for UAV forecast and Kittyhawk.

There is a fix posted on the DJI forums. It is says to recalibrate your phone's compass while it is in the remote holder and connected to the fly app. Apparently being so close to the remote affects the phones compass.

Thanks for posting that flight data. If the ESCs aren't the problem, I wonder if cheap build up inside the shell could be causing something else to malfunction.

Pardon my ignorance, I'm not familiar with DJI hardware and software. The mini is my first dji product. Is there some sort of feedback from the motors confirming that they are running at full speed when this happens? Could the flight controller be sending the command to run full speed, but...

Just a thought about what might be causing these uncommanded descents. Warped props are causing the motors to constantly run at a higher rpm. When strong wind is encountered they cant spin fast enough so AC applies max power. After a few mins of max power heat builds up in the ESCs causing more...
