    Updated Mavic Color Profile Recommendations

My go to profile, especially for post color work, is still Cinelike. D-Log is still too muddy and difficult to work with in post. IMHO.

Yes. Cinelike has just enough flatness but still seems to handle post color correction and grading much better.

Updated Camera Color Profiles | Final Color Straight from Camera

If memory serves it was a manual WB set at 5600K. ISO 200, 4K @ 24fps and a shutter speed of 50. Check this video out if you have a moment. This applies to ANY video camera... not just the P4Pro. This explains a few basic rules to follow and the real reason an ND is critical for aerial video...

That is interesting. LUTs can sometimes get you close but I prefer to start the color grade from scratch on each shot.

I am. Sorry my alert settings were all messed up. I'm still not a fan of D-Log in any capacity. It's still just too muddy and difficult to work with in post. D-Cinelike is still my go to post color profile.

Barry I think the D-Cinelike profile would work perfect for your conditions. The one thing I would highly recommend is using ND filters. The desert is extremely bright and you'll want your shutter speed to stay low for best video quality. (Your shutter speed should be set to double the frame...

I don't use LUTs with Log-Cinelike. It's a fairly bright color setting so you don't have to tweak it much to get a little more vibrant or stylized look to the clip when it's shot with Log-Cinelike.

Yes.... to both! Using -1 protects the image highlights from blowing out and shadows from being crushed. So it makes is much easier to grade because once you've overexposed or crushed the blacks....there's nothing you, I or anyone can do to get that information back in post. When mixing clips...

Yeah it's getting a little crazy. Yes H is second to last. Completely revamping color and removing profiles after product release is a sign of how quickly these are rushed to market without proper research and testing.

Yep. The subsettings (-1-1-1) were also applied when filming the FILM profile tests.

Mavic Pro | Best Camera Settings

Correction.... Start with the Cine Profile with sub-settings dialed down to -1 -1 -1. It's also my understanding that the Film A thru I profiles are more for selfie "instagramy" kinda filters. So if you're looking for a good middle of the road profile to do post color work... the A thur I...

Mavic Pro | Best Camera Settings

I've not had time to test yet BUT I'm hearing that Log was tweaked quite a bit. I'd start there with all sub-settings at -1. I'll post more on my channel when I can put something together.
