Mavic Air - What Don’t You Like

I’ve had an Air for just over two years. I don’t find range a problem having switched to 5.8, it’s great in wind, maybe better than the pro. I’m pleased with it BUT The really frustrating and annoying issue is with the DJI goggles. It’s a bit of a pain having to connect the phone first and...

    Hi guys.. Phantom or mavic?

Like you I am in Spain circa Alicante. I fly fixed wing, helicopters (not very well) and drones. I’ve had the original hexacopter from DJI, Phantom 3 and 4 plus a pocket drone. I have a Mavic Air now and have owned it since April 2018. It is, as far as I am concerned, the most practical one I...

Top Mavic Air accessories for June 2019 (by DDH)

That’s why I got the DJI goggles because the sun is a nightmare here in Spain with a phone or tablet. I’m pleased with the goggles despite having to setup with the phone first BUT there is one major snag. I use Airdata for my log book, or at least I did use it. Without the phone connected I...

    Goggles with Mavic air

I really am fed up with DJI. Nowadays it’s important to keep a log of flights both for yourself and for legal reasons. For a year I’ve been using Airdata and it’s worked perfectly. I decided to get the DJI goggles. I was aware of the issue about having to connect the phone first to get over...

    Airdata website with DJI goggles

I hadn’t considered this but seemingly it is a problem. I have been flying my Mavic Air for a year using the phone and logging my flights on Airdata. Now I have got the DJI goggles which are superb but the phone and thus the DJI Go 4 app have to be disconnected.. The question is can I still...

    Unnaceptable flying.

I live in Spain and I can tell you that Guardia take a very dim view of drones flying near building, urbanisations and people, a very dim view. I am aware of people having their drones seized. In one reported case they took the drone, everything associated with it and impounded the persons car...

    Air Range Issue

I’m in Spain and I keep seeing post posts about range issues. I fly with with CE mode on an IPhone. I regularly fly up to 1km away in a rural environment but have not flown further simply because I don’t want to.. I don’t use extra antennas or any other adapters and have only lost contact once...

Drones are now banned from flying in these UK parks to 'reduce risk to the public'.

I live in Spain, a great place to live but not a great place for Drones, banned in all National Parks, banned near Residencial areas, banned on the beaches, in fact banned in most places. Mind you unless you behave in a stupid way nobody takes much notice and there are plenty of empty areas out...

Why am I reading about lots of people having lots of problems with Mavic drones?

I have to admit to flying fixed wing and helicopters (badly) but I think that flying my Mavic Air is the easiest thing I have done. I set it up, took it off, tested the RTH and off I went. I was quite happy up to 1km away on the second flight over a lake and managed to capture some reasonable...

Mavic AIR firmware .500 is available (Sep 30, 2018)

TBH, and I know it’s selfish, with any firmware or software update, computer drone, plane whatever I wait a couple of weeks for the inevitable bugs to be found and hopefully corrected. Then I update. Sadly, especially with a Windows computer, I still get caught out.

    DJI Goggles

I’m wanting to get the DJI goggles for my Air but I’ve heard conflicting reports. Can somebody please answer for sure the following Is there a range restriction using the goggles. Do you have to connect the goggles with a cable to the controller Can you still attach the phone to the controller...

    Battery

Ok on the 10 days discharge cycle but does it make a difference if you leave it in the drone, albeit with everything turned off?

    Battery

These are probably two stupid questions so please don’t laugh! I have two batteries for my Mavic Air. I normally charge my batteries a day or a couple of days before flying. I leave one in the air and one ready for use. Today I had a use for my air but hadn’t charged the battery in the drone...

Vivid colour with air and go4

My friend flies a Mavic Pro and has a setting in Go 4 for vivid colour. I am trying to find the same effect for my Mavic Air with the same version of Go4 but I can’t find the setting. Can somebody tell me if it exists for the Mavic Air and where it is in Go 4
