    Mavic 3 SDK

Well understood by who? My Mavic 1 and Mavic 2 both had the SDK working upon release, my Inspire 2 had a working SDK when I bought it (no idea if it had it when released as I bought it after). DJI stated a date when the SDK for the Mavic 3 would be released, which I used to make a purchase...

    Green Dot of Death

My flying is primarily at night, and I get the green-dot during night flying! It is far less objectionable with my Mavic Pro, Mavic 2 Pro and Inspire 2.

CBR v.s VBR - which one should I choose for best video quality?

It is perfectly reasonable to ask somebody to provide evidence of something they attempt to state as fact when it may be wrong. Rather than being open-minded and learning what you may not know, you shut down the conversation to save face rather than making sure the information in this thread is...

CBR v.s VBR - which one should I choose for best video quality?

It is not that I don't like your statements, they just are factually wrong. You are correct, I have no idea what DJI does with their VBR and CBR implementation, but you also have no idea. Simply stating that the Mavic's VBR requires a target bit-rate and max bit-rate, when no such option even...

CBR v.s VBR - which one should I choose for best video quality?

"When enabled video bitrate is compressed to save storage space while image quality is not affected" is stated on the DJI Fly App screen. So, it appears as if the Mavic 3 just uses a basic VBR, i.e. the VBR and CBR algorithm are identical with CBR just adding 0's to the stream to make sure it...

CBR v.s VBR - which one should I choose for best video quality?

"Using CBR with a constant bit rate equal to your VBR Maximum bitrate will never result in a lower quality output. It will result in a larger file size, and even potentially better output quality, since there is no compression." Please cite your source for this information which you seem to...

CBR v.s VBR - which one should I choose for best video quality?

This is completely incorrect, from a theoretical standpoint. Both VBR and CBR are the same basic lossy form of encoding. VBR has a greater capability to have higher quality results, with the capability to peak above the nominal bit-rate if needed when it gets complex images. CBR has to always...

How to turn all lights off?

DJI must have thought of several to include it in the Enterprise version. I can think of one reason where I recently needed it. I was flying indoors at night and I didn't want the flashing of the rear lights ruining my video as the flash of the lights bounced off all the walls and could be...

How to turn all lights off?

Do you actually have an answer to his question? He didn't ask if it was safe or correct to fly with the lights off. To the OP, the front lights can be turned off, but the only way currently to turn off the rears is to use dark tape. Clearly, there are situations where one would want the...

Getting arrested. But found a cool spot

I call BS on this! Where is the lack of available space here? :)

Found a Mavic Pro Crashed in the Snow Near Shaver Lake CA, How do I find the owner?

Since when do they issue N numbers for drones?!

    Disconnecting issues

Might I suggest you fly the drone without any cable or phone attached? Fly it within visual line of sight. If you still get a disconnect then it has absolutely nothing to do with your phone or cable. I would try testing that first to get an understanding of what is or is not an issue.

    Vertical photos?

Are you sure the zoom doesn’t? That’s odd. As far as losing resolution with cropping, what is the resolution of Instagram photos?!?

    Vertical photos?

My understanding is that the Mavic 2 (Zoom) does support what you need, the Mavic 2 Pro doesn’t. It is easy enough to crop the horizontal image to get the vertical needed, only a fraction of the resolution is needed for Instagram. Or, just get the Mavic 2 Zoom. I don’t think DJI gave the...

    Vertical photos?

I don't think DJI designed the 1" sensor to appeal to people posting images on Instagram. For what they designed it for, rotating 90 degrees clearly was not considered necessary.
