Sell my new un-flown Mavic air 2 to get 2s?

If you don’t want the Air 2 craft, list it and the rc on eBay or another market and keep the batteries and chargers. I did that with one of my drones.

    Helicopter flying towards drone. Tips?

You are right that the rules will be changing, but not how you would like. I bet we will see a lower ceiling and a hard visual limit for all recreational flyers, then planned and submitted flight plans for 107 pilots. Rules generally do not get looser for the small person. Amazon, UPS, and...

    Apple laptops.

There are a lot the can and can’t handle 4K6fps. The 2016 Pros and newer should be able to handle the playback With no problem. The Air 2018 and newer should also. Are you using QuickTime or a third party software like VLC for the playback? Have you double checked the player is up to date?

    Part 107 gray area?

Please anyone asking if they can or should register as 107 to do a flight, please email the FAA at [email protected] or talk to a lawyer. There is a lot of personal options here that may or not be based on factual information. Here is an example of the FAA’s clear guidance that runs contrary to...

How does the Mavic Air 2 perform in cold weather?

I am always impressed how you can spin your product into almost every post. I can see tomorrow’s post, Can the MA2 survive a volcano..... if you have a wetsuit you will get an extra 8 seconds before the quad bursts into flames.... I really do love your ability.

    Zoom

No, but you could take the video and snag a frame, or what I would do is do a screen capture on your phone/tablet once you frame the photo you want.

    Part 107 gray area?

Exactly, the question is irrelevant to this discussion. All that it makes clear is that to intentionally shoot commercial images, a Part 107 is required. To make the actual issue clearer for you, I'll extend your (very good) hypothetical scenario. You caught some great images of the Loch Ness...

    Part 107 gray area?

Here is an example posed on the FAA’s site: “Q: Are drone pilots required to have a Part 107 certification in order to sell photos that they took using a drone? A: If the activity is not for recreational purposes (and flying for the purpose of selling photos would seem a commercial purpose...

    Part 107 gray area?

Unless you are a lawyer that has successfully defended your position in federal court, you are just stating your own opinion. You are entitled to have your own opinion just as I am. Have a great day.

    Part 107 gray area?

Not making up anything. I research and review the regulators rules and guidance. Have a great day!!

    Part 107 gray area?

Oh I have read and watched their podcasts/webinar, as I make sure I am always on the correct side of the rules. I guess we should agree to disagrees as I know what I have been told and you don’t.

    Part 107 gray area?

May be I will explain how the “laws” work. The legisature creates the law, then the governing agency passes rules on how to enforce the actual law passed. Then as they didn’t get the rule right the lawyers make “case law” by having the judicial system make rulings on the intent and...

    Part 107 gray area?

Maybe you should look at the FAA’s website, you know the people that would charge you with the federal crime. Are you flying for business, a commercial enterprise, non-profit work, or for educational purposes (flying and classroom instruction)?

    Part 107 gray area?

Sorry that would not stand up in court. Of I had no intent to turn it into the Ken Burns Video collection, 20 minutes after my flight, it was solely for recreational purpose, but I saw something cool so I wanted to cash in. Nice try.
