POTUS has standing no fly zones near his home in Delaware, even tighter when he is at home in DE, plus today you have a NASCAR race in Dover, any NASCAR race , like MLB, NFL, Division 1 Football, etc is considered a sUAV no fly zone...
my training tells me a gun displayed with the intent to use, at any distance is a deadly threat, my reaction would have been to drop her in her tracks.
If she did drop her weapon ( she dropped her weapon at the sight of mine), I would have held her at gunpoint until the cops arrived
In 40...
warning at 30, RTH at 20.
I rarely fly to the point of getting a warning as I tend to keep it close to me when I am flying.
I am checking battery status as I fly, as I am using almost 4 year old Mavic Pro batteries so they could be problematic at any moment
cows? I'd love to have cows.
I have ALLIGATORS, and the various fences and boundaries mean nothing to them.
Here is my favorite Bull (cow) picture, and a couple of the many gators that line the banks of the golf course at the Florida house
without a CLEAR path from the FAA on the remote ID clusterfark, I'm not putting dollar ONE into any sUAV until there is a standard and DJI supports it
I'm still not happy with DJI dropping battery support for the Mavic Pro platform either
Well that explains it.... those of us that do look at sectionals and read NOTAMS as part of flight planning would probably know enough to fly VLOS to begin with but certainly would take notice of the characteristics of the airspace and fly accordingly....
Unfortunately way too many people just...
was there a NOTAM or was it in a area marked on the sectional as Restricted or Prohibited?
was it a MTR / MOA ?
Normally in NH when the ANG is using the White Mountains as a duplicate for Afghanistan's mountains, it is NOTAM'd / TFR'd
all the information on GPS location, elevation, exposure, etc etc etc is stored in the file metadata, should be pretty easy to fly to the same spot with all that information available.
PS a life preserver for your drone is a great idea, that way when it tries to turn into a submarine you can watch it float away... the chances of you being able to locate and recover a floating drone from a boat of any substantial size without jumping in after it ( is your drone worth the risk...
the RTH can be set for where the controller is/last known position of the controller, OR the home point/ place of take off
But if you lose communication and are constantly moving you are NEVER going to get it back except by hand flying... -otherwise it is just going to go for a swim when it...
it is because the height AGL is determined by a barometer on the aircraft, that calculates the difference between the air pressure at point of launch and at 200' above that point.
If the pressure was 29.9" at point of take off, the barometer on board is going to stop you at about 29.7" of...
