Agree with Old man, problems with signal, if the Mini is directly above. Try to create an angle with you and the drone, Better chance of a good signal.

I too leave a battery in the Mini. Never had a problem (yet ....)

And how hard do you think it might be to reduce the weight by 1grm ? A small hole here, a small hole there ....... ;)
