    B4UFLY app no longer opens

Aloft decided to no longer participate in the B4UFLY program and instead design their own app to have more freedom. This allows them to offer things that are currently not in the other 4 apps, such as the FRIA list, which was added last week to Air Aware.

    M3P RFID disabled w/ 249gr battery?

I actually don't think it's a ploy to sell more battery but rather a way for DJI to try to satisfy the majority of people who fly the Mini, aka recreational users. The problem is, DJI can't win on this one, they will either piss off the recreational flyers who don't like that they are forced...

    M3P RFID disabled w/ 249gr battery?

EDITING MY PREVIOUS RESPONSE. DJI confirmed that the Mini 3 Pro is not affected. So this only applied to the Mini 4 Pro and Mini 3 only.

Let's see how many FAA (and other) rules Ken broke

The article linked IS up to date, it was updated with the latest rules changes. While you COULD do sustained flight over people in moving vehicles with a Category 1 drone (prop guards and less than 250 grams) it must be done in a close/restricted access site and everyone must be on notice. If...

Remote ID Delayed enforcement is official

IMPORTANT REMOTE ID ANNOUNCEMENT The FAA finally made a decision on Remote ID enforcement. (short version) The FAA will exercise its discretion in determining whether to take enforcement action through March 16, 2024. If you are waiting for your module to ship, you're good. If you tell the FAA...

Ken Heron claims RID is cancelled - For Now...

Not quite to March yet. The FAA doesn't know how long the delay might be but we asked the FAA in our letter to push it to March. So March is not a sure thing just yet.

Is the industry/community ready for Remote ID?

Thank you to everyone in this thread who filled out the survey. We said we would share the results publicly. Here's an open letter we sent to the FAA asking for delayed enforcement until March 2024...

Hi Folks, I would like to ask for your help with 45 seconds of your time. We are trying to find out if the UAS community is ready for Remote ID. We are hoping to gather meaningful data to understand what will happen on September 16. Here's the link to the survey, thank you in advance for your...

    My first Get Up !

We were just curious if it would affect flight time once we found out they fit. The ESCs adjust for the larger props. We actually found that the motors ran colder with the bigger props, which somewhat makes sense. We still won't recommend trying it at home.

What is the maximum VLOS you've ever achieved yourself?

Keep in mind that VLOS is more than just "seeing" a dot or a light on the horizon. You need to be able to tell the attitude, altitude, direction of flight of the aircraft, be able to know its location (including in relationship to other traffic). You also need to be able to verify that you're...

Interesting Video from Drone U: How to "legally" not comply with RID

I'm also not ok with broadcasting the pilot location. That's not a novel idea, many of us have been against this and vocal about it since the NRPM. It's an OPINION and doesn't give you the right to ignore federal aviation regulation. It's like saying I don't agree with ADS-B regulation so I'm...
