    Drone insurance with a twist

nope, I'm here in Maryland and use State Farm for my home and truck, and my agent said SF doesn't cover drones. Clearly there's a disconnect somewhere with such inconsistent responses. Anyways, I use my drones commercially, so I have a separate liability/hull replacement policy. It's pricey, but...

Besides flying Drones.. What other hobbies does everyone enjoy?

sailing, rescuing birds of prey and rehabbing them back to health, working out.

    Upgrade Put Me In NFZ

Same here. DJI decided that even thought the Washington DC airspace has a permanent TFR, SFRA, No Drone Zone, that's already policed by the FAA, USSS, DHS, etc., they decided to extend their airmap restrictions all the way out to the Chesapeake Bay, which is total ********.

What are the little things about the Mavic Pro that you love?

that it's quite easy to setup and fly quickly as long as the firmware isn't acting up. It's ridiculously fun to just fly it. Compared to my H520, it zips!

    DJI Goggles and Mavic Pro

For your follow up, just go through the menu options, if I'm understanding you correctly. Put them on and go through the menu for the options. I don't have mine anymore. I sold them to another MP pilot who would make good use of them.

    DJI Go 4 update?

yeah, this was the first time I've had this much trouble since I first opened my DJI Spark last year and had a bazillion updates to do. It took me 3 days. I was ready to return it and get my money back when all of a sudden on day 3 everything updated quickly. SMDH.

    DJI Go 4 update?

well, that was the usual DJI brutal and excruciating experience. Over an hour to do the update with the desktop app. Then I had to reset bird, RC and app 3X to get the damned red message to go away. Finally DONE.

    ND filters.

I use Polar Pro and have never had an issue with them.

    Career change.... Worthwhile?

I run my own training and consulting business. It took me the better part of two years to really get it going. Slow and steady is the way to go. Someone here made the point about getting trained and certified. I'm looking at the level 1 thermography class. If you can do something to stand out...

First flight for Mavic and pilot

You did it right. You didn't give into wanting to immediately fly over water, go beyond VLOS, and I'm happy that your flights have gone well. As for the video setting, if that's the worst thing you've done wrong, then no worries! I recommend doing a number of boring flights to get used to the...

Not sure to wait for the 2 after a while or jump on it

I'd bet good money that once the new models hit the street and are purchased, this board and the DJI forum site will light up like Christmas trees with bitching about the bird, hardware issues, camera, software and the app. It's the cost of being out there on the bleeding edge.

FAA Registration. Selling my already registered drone!

I know that. I told him it was his responsibility to do the right thing, and anytime you sell or lose a drone permanently, you should cancel the registration.

    Mavic Pro Discussions Watch Forum

Yeah, unless you live near someone you know who has a DJI product, it's hours and hours of looking at 3rd party videos to get the detailed information you need. Drone on's advice is spot on, and really helps minimize - not eliminate - the chances of something bad happening while you're learning...

Gimbal won't work with ND filter

I saw on an Amazon product page for Mavic Pro filters that you're only supposed to seat the filter on to the gold band; any further down, and that's what is causing the gimbal error to occur. Due to the fact that we have thunder storms rolling my way keeps me from going out and testing this...
