Thanks again to everybody for your input. My conclusion is that because the drone was in RTH mode, but stuck in 'purgatory' and couldn't clear the OA braking sequence, (which needs the sticks to be acknowledged as centered).....because the drone could never confirm that, it was therefore stuck...

Agree.....the OA is very touchy when pointing into the sun. However I thought that once it gets into RTH mode, and no input from the controller, it will "reset" the OA, and then come home....? My drone (I'm learning now) was kinda stuck, wanted to RTH but couldn't because the OA kept on sensing...

Nope, no upgrade in the last few months...I thought my current platform was stable, therefore no necesity to upgrade.

See if you can get a friends goggles to "try" first ....... and then see if you get that emotional response. I'd try that first before dropping 450! I wish i was in NYC, you could try mine anytime, but you'd have to fly clear across the lower 48 to SoCal !

Scott, your point re making you better at the videography portion of your experience, I'm really not sure whether the goggles will help ? I do like the fact in the "gimbal tracking" mode that you can LOOK in a certain direction and place, and the gimbal will follow, but.......not sure if that...

Michael, no I did not try tap focus, I have always only used auto focus so maybe next time will try that suggestion instead. I agree with you that maybe some of this can be fixed in post processing, but I'd like to get as quality an image as I can directly first go around.
