I had cousins that lived in San Leanna with Slaughter Creek flowing right behind the house. I spent a great deal of time fishing the creek and hunting in the woods in that area while I was growing up.

That's a beautiful image! What city is that? I too like capturing panos - often 3x2 or 4x2 sized. I create them almost every day of sunrises, sunsets, and cityscapes. Here's one I captured of Austin, TX one afternoon after work a couple of months ago.

I specifically described the process I use for capture of 360 panos. The image I shared appeared distorted along the bottom because it was a 360 pano image - and I suppose I was too lazy to say so. Here's a link to the full sized image on Kuula.co after using content-aware fill in the sky...

If you look carefully at how the Mavic 2 captures panos you notice that it first raises the camera above the horizon, meters the scene, lowers the camera below the horizon, and then meters again. It averages the exposure between the two metered values and uses that single fixed value to capture...

I am a 107 Certificate holder, that's why I had to register my new drone and deactivate the one that was damaged in the crash. As a hobbyist only a single registration is required but for 107 holders each and every drone must be registered individually.

No, the drone was not flying backward at the time. The flight logs show the right stick full down and the left stick centered, so the drone was only descending without any horizontal movement.

DJI just sent me an email. They did not report what they had found but did state that all repairs would be covered under warranty. Had I not had Refresh coverage repair costs would have been $561.60.

Thank you very much for the analysis. That makes me feel better to know what the issue was - but also makes me feel bad that it was my fault. Between the original Mavic and the new Mavic 2 I have over 650 flights without a single incident. What surprises me is that this was the second flight...
