    Slick wraps was hacked.

I have ordered from slickwraps in the past a couple of times and just got an email with a title something like “ to slickwraps customers” (I deleted it after I read it so don’t remember exactly what it was). The email basically said that they hacked into slick wraps and accessed customer...

Rc Geeks multi charger no longer charges my Mavic2 batteries

    Yeah, that is another possibility.

Rc Geeks multi charger no longer charges my Mavic2 batteries

I have had an RC Geeks 3 battery charger for over 6 months and up until now have loved it. It has always charged the batteries perfectly and all at the same time. Now when I plug in a battery or batteries it seems to start charging as it always has, but then switches to one rapidly flashing...

Take pictures and footage, Commercial Permission required?

I honestly don’t know what the FAA would find objectionable, but being part 107 qualified doesn’t let you fly over people or at night without a waiver. If you were just average Joe with a new drone it seems you can get away with flying over people and at night, or at least that seems to be the...

Do you save all those raw files from mavic pro from every flight ? External storage/ Buy cloud storage ?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076MPMZDV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have a couple of these, they were on sale for $89.95 a while back. I keep my eye on stuff with camelcamelcamel price tracker to get the best deal and see price trends...

Take pictures and footage, Commercial Permission required?

So, at the risk of being hypothetically pointless....;)....but hypothetically if a part 107 pilot shoots a personal project today that would involve flying at night or over people with the intention of doing it strictly for his/her own enjoyment, then next year/month someone offers them money to...

An FAA Video from 10-17-2019 You may want to watch

Trying to find a silver lining if this were to pass. If the FAA no longer controled ground to 200ft would that not mean UAV PIC would no longer have to abide by FAA regulations like flying at night or over people as long as they were within 0-200ft??

Take pictures and footage, Commercial Permission required?

I think many people realize if they film while they are flying and not following the FAA rules they may be creating evidence that could be used against themselves. It would be the actions of the flight rather than the actual usage of the image/footage the FAA might be concerned with, your images...

When the competition plays by their own rules.

If you don’t make money with your drone, that is a completely different animal, but if someone is charging for their services they need to be Part 107 certified. That was not just an assumption that the wedding photographer in question was a part 107 certified pilot, that is clearly displayed...

    Flying with iPad mini

I use the Mini 4 with no problems (knock wood),but use it with a Mavmount and rarely disconnect the controller from the Mavmount. The IPad is easily removed from the Mavmount if you need to.

When the competition plays by their own rules.

I guess my original post was more rhetorical in nature, but thanks everyone for the thoughtful replies. Still photography was my main source of income for 30 years until I took an editing job a few years ago, so I whole heartedly agree with the comments on the invasion of the prosumer Pro. For...

When the competition plays by their own rules.

We go through the process of getting our part 107 and follow FAA regs, but what is the advantage when it seems like a such a large percentage of people offering drone service either don’t care about the rules or don’t know there are any. Real estate agents who do their own photos without a...
