I think you’ll need to connect with hotspot, at least that’s how I update my Evo 2 SmartController. Once updated, no need to connect with hotspot again.

I kind of understood some of what he was saying, both controllers about equal no difference. Only he mentions second controller has less bars (signal strength) beyond 5000 meters but still good signal as first controller. From what I was seeing, second test did show less bars at 5000 meters...

Same here, DJI released it instantly after canceling my order 5/15 last night. Now, PayPal has it and will release it back to my bank on 5/18. That’s quick, had deep second thoughts on the new mini 3 and decided to wait.
