180 error code

I am getting a 180 error on Mavic 2 pro Drone will not fly outside only in the house I have a purchased a RM500 smart controller and mav2pro from ebay. Any ideas out there.

The forum seems to be filled with people with Mavic 2's with the RM500 from ebay, that have some glitch.
HMMMM. You have a software miss-match and something must be updated.

According to the forum it appears to be a update of the DJI Go 4 app on the RM500. Just have to figure out how to get it from the android phone to the DJI controller.

I have not tried it yet. I sawin passing but overlooked it while looking for another answer.

I wholeheartedly recommend you do any and all updates thru the DJI assistant or if you are savy use Dronehacks as your updating tool.

I will look into it and see if I am savy enough to use it

Make sure you have the latest firmware version in the aircraft and the latest version of GO4 download right from the DJI website. After I did that and rebooted both, the error 180 was gone and has never returned.

I have downloaded the recommended assistant 2 from DJI website and downloaded the update, However when I connect the RM500 controller I can not change it from charge only to transfer files so I can not load the firmware. I do see that I have the latest firmware on the RM500 but I am not sure aou the Mav2 pro drone. I ned to make sure I have a good usb c data tranfer cable and not just a charging only usb c cable. I think I am getting closer to resolving the issue though, I hope. I am learning as I go. Just to new to this game thats for sure.
I am curious though why I can fly it in the house but the moment I get outside I get the 180 error code and can't fly it outside. Not sure why that is.

Along with the latest firmware you also need the latest version of GO4 in the smart controller. You can download that diretly using the lightening browser built into the smart controller. Just use it to go to the DJI website, then the Mavic 2 area, and then downloads if I remember correctly. After downloaded go to the downloads folder and install it. If you have the latest aircraft firmware & GO4 version, it should work without the 180 error code.

After installing new firmware on a DJI drone, you might see an “Unknown error (code: 180)” message when attempting to start the motors on your drone. That means you’re currently running a version of DJI GO 4 or DJI Fly that is not compatible with the firmware on your drone.




Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

• If running DJI GO 4 or DJI Fly on a mobile device, install the latest version of DJI GO 4 or DJI Fly from the Apple store on your mobile device (if using an Apple device) or from the DJI Download Center (if using an Android device)...
