some impressive distance there, hats off to you.... I would be as nervous as hell. Only just got the Mavic and really nervous about it, so at the moment its staying in line of sight.

Question for anyone, in the video, the OP is switching between live feed going full screen and mapping in bottom right, and then switching round. Is there a quick command for this, button or what? bear in mind I am a 1 week old newbie.

You CAN fly near these locations provided that there are no FAA restrictions; however you cannot launch, land, or operate from the listed locations. You simply need to launch, operate, and land from a place that is NOT a national park or other non-drone location. One of the California beaches that are not part of a National Park should work.

Exactly, for clarification... Park rangers can't issue anything for activity outside the park. They have jurisdiction inside the park outside the park they have 0 authority. They turn into pumpkins outside the park.

I've got a documented 10089 meter flight or 33,091.9 feet on one battery, That 6.26 miles! Desert flying is the best for distances

Yup, I flew 18k ft to Alcatraz. Even had time to hover around the "rock" for a while.

That is the general consensus though I don't know that the courts have ever decided the issue. Would be fun to watch the NPS and the FAA battle it out.

No enforcement whatsoever. Loads of drones here and no regulations enforced. I mean...the rules do exist, but no one cares about them or abides by them.
