I did the same thing when I started flying, years ago. Made a huge difference in the learning curve. Not caring if I trashed the little drone (Hubsan X4), I was able to get a bit more aggressive with the controls.I do have a $50 drone I bought and practiced with while waiting for my Mavic. My cat and plants weren't happen about that but sure improved my flying skills practicing indoors.
Golden shot! I believe when you put time and effort into a shot, that´s when the magic happens. This is a testament to that. Thank you for sharing! Got a similar project on the way (doing it manually with written down altitude, distance and rotation speed), an old military fortress in Sweden. This is the first of four clips...I've been shooting this since last summer, and narrowed down the footage to the three best shots (40 second video):
MP + DJI Go4 (I know... I know... Litchi wasn't loading properly on the first day of the shoot - and I will never use Go4 again to fly such a mission - but here it is, nonetheless...)
Truth be told... I had three or four other takes that all looked like summer. I tried several variations - but ended up dumping them, as they didn't show much change. It was the clouds in the fall shot that gave me *something* usable, before heading to the winter shot, which was very discernable. Thanks for watching!Nicely done, though change from summer to fall isn’t as obvious as fall to winter, if you hadn’t labelled it I wouldn’t have known.
Looking forward to your next one
