Hello folks - just joined the forum. I’ve been wanting to supplement my private pilot ticket (by no means current) with Part 107 just because. Starting to learn the technical and regulatory side of things. As I got my private rating in the mid 70’s, I’m quite astonished to see the amount legalese that now exists for drones.
Along with being retired from Boeing, aviation in general has always been an interest of mine. Purchased a Mini 4K Pro for my birthday. With all the uncertainty about the recent FCC doings and availability of parts/replacements, I purchased what I thought was a duplicate. Upon the 2nd one’s arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to find the first purchase came with Plus batteries. The second one has the regular batteries. Didn’t expect that. So, one is registered (and probably over 249g) and one is not.
My location shows WA/MT. We are slowly transitioning to Montana in 2026. Not as many restricted areas as the Puget Sound area.
