About active track: mobile performance dependant?

Hi, I have this question.... ACTIVE TRACK is done with MAVIC hardware (no dependant mobile) or it´s done by phone hardware? question is if it works better with a high performance mobile.

dji spark is no dependant, since it can be done without mobile app (gesture mode), but I have doubt about MAVIC. I remember some third part app how litchi, with phantom 3, implemented it but it was a HARDWARE MOBILE dependant.

That´s sound nice. I was a bit worried if performance was affected but "old"mobile...
