as I tell my clients, if you kill someone or get killed just make sure its on camera so I can release the video

but seriously look at "autopilot" tutorial vids, the app itself is called autopilot, the airspace feature basically will allow you to add your victims phone in and use their GPS.
along with barometer, iPhone 6 or higher (no idea about android) the drone will be able to do a far better job.

the tracking method of dji is a nice idea and works well sometimes, but I think you will find autopilot probably will do it better given the method.
