Advices for a newbie

HI all, just got my mavic pro recently and am new to the scene. Just want some advices from those who live in New York City. Where can I get to fly my mavic for free and practise as a newbie. Preferably somewhere large enough for me. Getting lots of conflicting information on where I can fly and where I can't. Greatly appreciate any advices from the seasoned fliers in New York.

Check out UAV forecast or Hover, they'll map out restricted flight zones. Don't fly over people, or in the dark and keep it under 400 feet unless you're over a building in which case you can fly 400' over the structure.

If you need to do any calibrations, don't do it near any buildings, the metric **** ton of magnetic interference will throw it off.
