Air2S - Cine mode too fast

Cool. That sounds great thanks
just thinking about this. I've the client shoot tomorrow so I'm nervous to update my app and firmware etc as I'll not get a chance to do any test flight prior to the proper flight. I might just grin and bear it form tomorrow and then update.

The link that Drone DJ refers to looks like this one - looks exactly what were after!

Drone DJ says the new firmware addresses your problem. "The latest Fly app update adds support for Air 2S to adjust EXP settings in Cine mode. This means you can now determine how smoothly or quickly the drone will move forward or backward, ascend or descend, or rotate left or right."
Got a link for that? Because "latest" need a date. That feature has been in Fly for at least six months, perhaps more.
<edit> OK, found it. Very confused. I've had that feature in Fly and. Air 2S since April.

Just go for it. If the update doesn't go well, use your backup drone for the shoot. If you don't have one, then don't update, do the shoot, update firmware after, and test, then order a backup drone. You're a professional, and no pro photographer has one camera. A backup can be used, if the money is the problem, but you absolutely can't afford to trash a shoot because of equipment failure, or a crash.

With all of the app crashes seen in the last few versions of DJI Fly, I think it's smart to hold off on any updates until after the shoot. You could have 10 backup drones, but if they are all DJI using the fly app, that doesn't help :)

Good luck!!

Someone running a drone business would have backup drones, controllers, and phones/tablets, and do very well sequenced and tested updates. You would never update one set and have it auto-ripple though the rest of the fleet.

Great thanks. Did you need to update your Dji Fly app also? Mine is v1.6.10 from July/August I think. I might look to upgrade that firmware so first thing in the morning and test using one or two batteries that all works well and there are no unwanted surprises. The shoot isn't till nearer 6pm so I can try make it work - as the slow cine mode will be really useful for what I need to do. Thanks!

Hey,

So I updated my drone to the below latest today

DJI Fly App: v1.7.8 (on my iPad v14.3) - I always use this iPad
Aircraft firmware: v02.04.2150
RC Firmware: v04.12.0069

I can't see the EXP section for Cine - I only see (as below) Normal and Sport. Am I missing something or in the wrong section ?

Mine is working fine - cine shows up as an option.

Maybe try to update firmware again (drone and controller)? otherwise IDK.
thanks - and do you've the same versions? Also do you use Android or Apple?

Hey Guys - so an update to this!

I updated just now (using DJI Assistant 2, like I did earlier this morning) the drone's firmware. It downloaded v02.04.2320 for me. Earlier today it gave me v02.04.2150 - so I guess there was this update for iOS in the last 12 hours.

I updated the RC firmware too and I deleted the Fly App from my iPad and installed the latest one from the App Store (v1.7.8)

I see the CINE option in the EXP section now - so now I'll experiment with it to slow down the settings

Thanks for your advise and feedback guys - much appreciated!!

So in summary all my versions are:

Fly App Version (iOS iPad): v1.7.8
Aircraft firmware: v02.04.2320
RC Firmware: v04.12.0069

Thanks ! - Ronan.

Hey guys. Going to play around with the EXP settings for Cine today. Wondering what settings worked good for others? . I realise it's a bit of trial and error but was curious as I've never changed EXP. settings on my drone before
Thanks Ro

I know it's not specific to Air 2S but it will give you an idea of what you're looking at if not familiar. Joshua Bardwell is on the FPV side but in a recent video explains perfect rates. The default is linear which means as you push the stick it reacts like a gas pedal and continues to give more in a linear fashion. With a curve, you can set an initial slower response with the maximum response further into the stick movement. Should be about what you're looking for.

Even if it's set in cine, it will ALWAYS start in normal mode
Ah Ha!! And I thought I had a problem with my new RC Controller as it indicated N mode when the switch was set to C mode. I will try changing modes then back to C mode to see if that sets C mode as it should. It seems this is a bug that needs to be fixed.
