Airplane mode/Live Streaming...?

I have an iPhone 7 and fly in airplane mode. I was trying to use YouTube live then realized there was no internet access. Does anyone use live streaming while in airplane mode somehow? Is there a way to turn on internet access while avoiding incoming calls??

Also, when I turn off airplane mode and login to YouTube it just spins and doesn't seem to work even tho I have live-streaming enabled on my YouTube account.

I thought DND only worked when the screen was locked. No?

Not sure anymore, haven't used an iPhone for 2 years +...

There is a setting for when DND operates. Locked or unlocked.
