I am a professional real estate photographer and was booked on a shoot that requested several drone shots. After checking the address I discovered the residence is located 1 mile from a local/regional airport. When I checked my Aloft App this location indicated it is in Class D airspace and I am not allowed to fly there... since it is directly in line with a runway, clearance to fly is at 0'. I then discovered the Agent who booked the photo session only needs one drone shot, and only to get a good shot of the front of the house because it is up on a hill from the street. In other words, to get a good level shot of the front of the house I would need to fly up about 15 feet at the most, not even close to getting above the trees, much less the house. Just a good, straight-on shot at house level. Is this use of the drone considered ok under these circumstances? I could see the argument going towards no because in case of a flyaway (God forbid) there poses the potential hazard to aircraft. Zero feet flight clearance means zero for a reason, no exceptions... or am I wrong on this? I always appreciate the input offered here and look forward to hearing the pros and cons of this kind of situation.
