Kinda new to the desert, but not new to drones! My Air2S is now searching, and not finding, waterfalls, 😂 . No matter, the desert is gorgeous too!

Drive east past Reata Pass and then down toward the Verde River. Part way down you should be able to head north into the Tonto National Forest. When I lived in Scottsdale that entire area was just desert, but I assume it is all houses now ... albeit soon to be without water from what I have read. In any case, the Tonto National Forest should still be accessible and the desert there is gorgeous. Be sure and check it out if you get a good snowfall ... cactus and snow make great pictures.

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA. We have a Member's Map in the Upper Right of the Title Bar. Click on "Members" and then Click on "Member's Map…" Check it out and you might find some new flying friends.

Just in case you do not have these… Below is the link to all of the downloads offered by DJI for the Mavic Air 2s, including the User Manual.

After you read the Manual, read it again, you will be surprised what you missed the first time and you will be better prepared for that first "scary moment…"

Happy Droning…

I have a few videos, taken in 2017-18, on an Autel X-Star Premium, my first decent drone:

I started watching and realized this might take me a few minutes to watch. Like, 55 of them. lol.

...give me some time and Ill watch it all but the 10 minutes I saw was AWESOME! I liked your audio adding the wind and crashing waves. +1
I'm hoping to be able to do this sort of complete editing soon.
Thanks for sharing.

The influx of people escaping California has been dramatic. The greater Phoenix area was the fastest growing area in the nation for the last couple of years. Of course, they overbuilt, and now with rising interest rates on home mortgages, the market has cratered — but still growing very slowly. As for the water situation. There’s actually plenty of water, now that we now how poorly it’s been managed in the past. It’s complicated, but essentially Agriculture takes about 80% of the water supply! A fact BigAg has tried hard to supress. Growing food in a desert is pretty radical, takes much, much water, but makes much $$$, because 90% rate of sunshine. Only crops that can handle the heat are grown, it’s surprising how many can. Today, you see more and more vacant fields between Phoenix and Tucson, as it becomes clear there isn’y enough water to support BigAg with the boom in development. If you look at a 2020 drought map, Arizona is just fine, getting it’s “normal” amount of rainfall. All that diverted Colorado River water has been going primarily to growing food!

LOL, well, it started-off being made for a friend‘s cafe/bar, as video wallpaper on big TV’s. That’s why the edits and vid are so lengthy. They went broke before it opened. By that time I was so hooked on how spectacular the Big Island is, I couldn’t stop — I was on a mission, 😂. The Big Island is 4,000 sq miles, bigger than all the other islands combined. It took 2 years, 100’s of flights. Many places are impossible to visit except by drone. There’s also about 15 coastal scenes now buried under 20’ of lava…
