Any version will allow you to change altitude limits.

Thanks for that but, think i've destroyed my drone. messing about with installing firm wear and now the drone wont connect to the controller, and just makes a clicking noise with a red light flashing by the SD card slot.

Perhaps depending on what drone you have, you can connect to computer and use DJI Assistant 2 to download software version again. My M2P also has a restore default function (I think) - haven't used either. I have reset altitude limits as I live next to a tall mountain and flying up it, staying near terrain, drone thinks it's way high when it ain't!

Thanks Bumper. I've tried linking the Mavic pro to the computer but it just doesn't do anything. I tried to flash an older version of an app into the drone, it didn't go over 20% and did nothing for two hours so I had to disconnect the Mavic. That seems to have done some, possibly, unrepairable damage to the drone as it just makes a clicking sound when I turn it on, and the handset just reads connecting. I'm gutted as I saved up a year for it, now it appears totally US.

The Mavic pro (1) just won't connect to the computer, just makes a quiet clicking noise, red light by SD slot. Tried the DJI app, nothing on mobile phone or laptop.

If your Mavic Pro is recently manufactured DJI will have put firmware on it that inhibits the installation of older versions of the firmware. This stops people from using loopholes in DJI’s poor software to bypass the restrictions they (DJI) want to impose on flying. There are none DJI methods for installing older firmware but you are going to have to get access to other parts of the forum.
Before you do that, just be aware that warranty’s are voided and that flying above the UK 400ft limit is illegal and may also be dangerous.

Hi BossBob,

Managed to install, via DJI Assistant, latest firmware so my drone breathes again! I really would like to gain access to the flight parameters though to tweek a couple of things. This knowledge is available on this site?

Thanks, and Happy New Year to you.

Hi Marie,
The latest firmware is locked down. You’ll need to get hold of older firmware no longer distributed by DJI.
Look at the site settings. There are extra forums that you have to choose to view. Firmware and Software is what you want. Superpatcher for Mavic Pro 1 is the culmination of many people’s work much brighter than me but is the way to go. If you go this route, don’t be stupid! I may have the ability but I still fly legally and urge you to do the same!
Happy new year!!

Hi again,

I did download Superpatcher, but all it gave me was Stealth mode options re the back light. That parameter doesn't bother me as I bought those super bright navigation lights, my Mavic is un missable in the night sky, appropriately, like an Xmas tree! I do fly legally, with me it's more of a could do issue; unfortunately I'm somewhat of a 'messer' I like to know how to change parameters should I wish. Superpatcher looks great, but I don't understand why only Stealth mode shows up? I think my Mavic is fairly old as I bought it off eBay. A professional photographer owned it before me. Any ideas on what I could do next to access altitude parameters?

Thanks again.

So you need an old version of DJI assistant that allows you access to debug mode. I use version 1.1.2.
Have a look on YouTube for digdat0, he has loads of info.

Thank you for that, I just seem to find it difficult to find and download the older version. I'll take a look again at YouTube. Once I've the version 1.1.2. do I use Superpatcher, or just flash it using that Dumldor program. I also downloaded DrankDroneDoenloader v2.0.7266.24220 but it hasn't the version you use. Thanks for your help.
Marie.

I’ve followed digdat0 and others from retro-rooms to enable debug mode in v1.1.2 of assistant and made my changes to parameters there. While I’ve used superpatcher most recently, I’ve previously used dankdownloader by itself without problems. Note that my Pro is a very early build. Newer build Pro’s have a different memory configuration and are missing an internal sd card. This causes problems with the various updates. Unfortunately to install the card you’ll have to open up the drone.

I think my drone is probably an old version as it was second hand. It has got a slot in SD card though, maybe it also has an internal card too. I fly helicopters so drone technology is all new to me, but I am going to look up the items on YouTube that you've informed me about. Love the information though so please keep it coming.

No idea why it says model unknown, but in Mavic Pro terms, 30 May 2018 is relatively new. Mine was manufactured in January 2017. If Superpatcher was used on the correct version of the firmware (1.04.0300) with any Mavic Pro 1 height limits will have been removed by default and the drone will not obey the displayed limits. FLY SAFELY!!

Ahhh! It's so confusing ?! All these versions etc. I found the information you directed me to on YouTube, but I'm not so smart on technology so I need to play and play it again to glean stuff. It's all a learning curve but after upsetting my Mavic yesterday I'm hesitant about messing with her again until (if!) I really understand what I'm doing.
