altitude instability

Had a minor mishap with a tree and replaced my Mavic Air by warranty. The replacement arrived and I tested it out yesterday. With this one, any forward movement of the right stick results in forward motion, but with significant altitude gain. I was able to move forward with the original drone without the altitude gain. Is there an adjustment I can do or is this one defective? It seems to hold altitude while hovering, but not with forward motion. Thanks for any advice!

You would need to post a log file in order to see exactly what is going on.

Maybe the sticks need to be recalibrated. Try that first.
