Yesterday I tried using the Quest 3 when flying around the sunset. I honestly won't be able to fly with any regular controller after this.

The size AND clarity of the picture is just amazing. Brings a whole new perspective to flying a drone and being immersed. One sees far more details, it is more secure and allows for better composition.
You can place the screen from the controller anywhere you like and change its' size. The see-theough on the Quest 3 is perfect or you can turn that of as well of course. No more problem with the sun👍

What you need:
1. DJI RC2 (or another controller with HDMI or UBS-C display mirrorirng output)
USB-C to HDMI cable (male/male). Has to be that direction!
2. Capture Card for 1080p @60Hz! With HDMI to USB-C output. Goes into the Quest 3
3. Quest or equivalent + Quest HDMI Link (free software to download in the Quest app store). Very quick setup. PlugnPlay.

Connect everything and turn in the controller the LAST!

That's it!

Please try it will change how you fly for fun or for customers.

Feel free to ask for support.
Greetings from Sweden 👍

I concur. I have been using Apple Vision Pro and it fundamentally changes the way you fly camera drones. Much better than any smart controller. DJI really needs to come up with a superior set of goggles or an app compatible with this equipment. For now, I am having to rig up the solution and it's not ideal so I don't really use it that often. Besides the super big wide-screen, it's the clarity and sharpness that is more impressive. The ability to watch more than one screen at the same time means you can watch an instructional YT video on a feature while flying, view a check list you created showing you where to go and what angles to capture, or listen to an audio track to help match your flight. A lot of potential here.

Exactly, the clarity and size + multiple windows as a bonus is a god send.

But compared to the Apple vision pro I just need a cable so it is really far easier with the Quest 3 (and similar). So I understand why you wont use it that often. I will from now on and have trouble just using the small screens (even the RC Pro 2).

Interested. Is that the Map Quest 3 your talking about? Any links or product info?
Meta, not Map. I assume Meta Quest 3. I remember the old Mapquest days before GPS took hold to the masses. And before that, I remember when you went to AAA to get a TripTik (not a Tik Tok) to tell you how to best travel across the country, where to stay, places to avoid. Old days.

Don't forget AA, where you would go to find a drinking buddy, or GA where you would go to look for players to round out your home poker game! Ah, the good old days! LOL!

DJI actually needs to optimize this type of VR headset. For example, when using the headset, we need to be able to place the map on one side of the screen and the FPV camera on another, and zoom in.

For the aircraft/remotes that don't have built-in android or display output you can use an AYN Odin that has microHDMI out.

Thanks for the idea. I’ll test out the quest tomorrow 👍
Currently building a VTOL using the O4 Air system. Might see if I can use the Meta in some way
