Amazon drone makes emergency landing in Arizona neighborhood

It would be nice BUT You can't keep it. You must do your best to contact the owner or the authorities. Some people think that if the Post office delivers something you didnt order to your address that they can keep the item. That's theft and the item must be returned or paid for. Now if they must access your property to get their lost drone, Well...there is nothing in the law that says they have free and unfettered access to trespass on your land.. You can even charge them a fee if you like. but it can't be ridiculous or a judge will throw it out.
I really wouldnt charge them I suppose, but it would be fun to make the Recovery team sit thru a "safety meeting" before they were allowed access to the property..Maybe even make them wear protective gear, like some chemical resistant animal costumes.maybe tie a balloon to ya so I can keep track of you. You know for Safety.
Storage fees come to mind if they don't come out right away. Would be really easy for Amazon to give you $$store credit for the inconvenience.

I bet Amazon Drones will be "trophies" for some.
Y'know how hunters like moose heads on the den wall? I've now got a mental image of some Mancunian chav sitting in his mum's council house with a big spliff and a range of delivery drone motherboards nailed to the wall over the gas fireplace... if you want to get the full picture, search out a copy of the British film: 'The Brothers Grimsby'... I promise you'll choke laughing.

The thing looked around for an open clear spot to set down and then I'm sure notified the base (Amazon) of it's location coordinates. So what's the problem? It sounds like it did exactly what it was supposed to in the event of a problem. It's obvious by the video that it didn't "crash". It simply set down there and tipped slightly to the side. Typical media trying to make something out of nothing.
I flew manned aircraft for 35 years and hated it when the press reported on aviation incidents, usually blowing everything out of proportion... kind of like this! 🤬

Remember the self driving Dominoes Vehicles they said were gonna revolutionize the way they Delivered? They tested those little buggies here in Bakersfield. They did end up feeding every person that figured out that tossing a 4x4 under it meant Free Pizza party!! they didnt last but a few months.

If there are kids kicking a ball around and it lands in your yard, are you legally obligated to give it back?
If it landed on my property they'd get it back, eventually. I wouldn't make it easy for them, though.
But that's just because I'm "bad".
