Any mini owners experienced problems with the open motors?

Hi,
Not that I’ve experienced any problems yet, but has anyone discovered reliability concerns?
In the long term , would having open motors cause failure of any serous issues?

No. DJI has been making drones with open motors for years.

Would be interesting to see how many motor companies actually build closed motors. Not sure if I’ve ever seen one, but then I haven’t really looked. Air flow and weight are the probably the reason behind the open concept.

Moisture and water are not a problem, just keep out any dirt and debris. Try to land in clean areas or use a pad. Enjoy

I have flown brushless motors for years, in fixed wing. I have not seen a closed motor casing on an outrunner brushless motor. Designed for air flow, I would surmiss. With the vertical orientation of drone motor, I am particular as suggested, to take care and avoid dirt, sand and debris...or tiny prop screws during prop change. Enjoy your flying.

I just use my hand for launch/recovery...no problems.

I've been watching reviews on motor covers, no increase on heat or changes in flight but will increase weight to 251 grams. Amazon has them for around 9 dollars.

The bigger concern may be the added weight to those miniature motors verses what may or may not enter the system. Keep us posted.
