I just got my Mavic the State Farm $60 Personal Articles Policy, so I should be good with that. However I was wondering if anyone thinks that it may be worthwhile getting a membership of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (Academy of Model Aeronautics), just to take advantage of their enhanced insurance options;

  • $2,500,000 Comprehensive General Liability Protection for model activities for members, clubs, site owners, and sponsors
  • $25,000 Accident/Medical Coverage for members
  • $10,000 Maximum Accidental Death Coverage for members
  • $1,000 Fire, Theft, and Vandalism Coverage for members

I have not looked but most likely all of their insurance coverage is in excess of any other collectable insurance.

Hi David, tcope is correct, I am an AMA member and have been for a long time. You can't beat their insurance coverage IMO. Plus AMA helps a lot with FAA rules and regulations that deals with drones.

Joining AMA funds their terrific programs and advocacy for RC hobbyists. The insurance is just a bonus.
